Focus on Africa is a registered charity helping people in Kenya to improve their lives. We raise money to enable us to assist in improving living conditions in Kenya.
Money raised last year enabled us to install electricity to dormitories and classrooms at an The Rehema Orphanage to the North of Kisumu.
To install water into Sigaligala - an annex of the Covenant Orphanage.
To replace a roof of the Salem High School which had been ripped off in storm damage.
We also purchase mosquito nets, mattresses, school books and have the occasional party for children.
Each year, a team of 10/12 people from all walks of life go to Kenya to physically do the work or oversee work being done.
Every penny raised is used in Kenya.
The pictures are of Rehema Orphanage where armoured cable was embedded in rocky ground to connect the power down to the dormitories and classrooms.
In January 2011 nearly a dozen children were taken to hospital to be treated for Malaria, new mosquito nets were purchased for all of the children. Since then, not one child has contracted Malaria.
In January 2010 a slide and swings were purchased and are given a bright new coat of pain each year during our trip.
